Topless in New York

There is a photographer, Jordan Matter, who is working on a project called “Uncovered“(not safe for work).  This project features woman of all varying degrees, topless on the streets of New York.  How does he get away with it?  Well apparently, there is a state appeals court that, in 1992, ruled that if men could expose their chests in public, women could not be punished for doing the same.  There have been a few women who have tested this ruling all seem to have made out financially for the City’s failure to inform its police officers of the ruling.  Jordan makes sure to carry a copy of the ruling just to clear anything up with officers.  NBC’s Today Show did an interesting story on it (this link is work safe: http://www.jordanmatter.com/video.asp second video down).

That photographer is awesome. I couldn’t stop clicking on all of the photos. Some of those stories are really moving.
