2008 Year in Review – Part 2

In May, I found myself in Arizona, backpacking the Grand Canyon to reach Havasupai Falls. My friend Sean had done the trek before and always wanted a group of us to go but sadly, he passed away before I got to take that trip with him. Shortly after his memorial, I decided that I was going to do it in 2008 and I took along his wife Steph, my Dad, my Sister, and my cousin, Derek. The trip was truly amazing and one that I will remember for the rest of my life. Arizona was awesome. The weather was great and varied. We started off the first night and it was 80 degrees when we landed, by the time we had reached the trail head (6 hour drive), the temperature had dropped to 32 degrees.

In June, my family and I took a road trip to Ohio to visit Cedar Point. We had been there once before but this time all the cousins went and boy did we have a good time. It rained quite a bit while we were in the campground but that didn’t stop us at all from having a good time.

4th of July was spent in Ocean City with new friends, Evan and Noelle. It was a great weekend getting to know each other over lots of drinks and late night chats and even watching the sun rise over the beach.

Two weeks later, I found myself in Brooklyn, NY at the world famous Coney Island with Leah and Steph. While there, I met with my friend Brandon who I’ve known for years but this was actually our first time meeting. I also took a side trip into the city to meet the Saw Lady for a post on Shutter On The Street, actually two post.

In August, I was off to Boston for work. I went there for training in IBM’s Tivoli Identity Manager but still found some time to do some sightseeing. The trip was a bit of a let down from the pleasure perspective but from the business side of things, it was well worth it.

It’s snowing, cold & windy in NYC – so I didn’t go to play at Times Square as I had planned to. Instead I’m home, sending you the best of wishes for 2009!
Good health, happinness and lots of beautiful photos!

    All the best,
