It’s been a while since I posted and there’s been a lot going on but I wanted to share something that was a lot of fun.
Last weekend was the 13th annual Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge for Maryland Special Olympics. This is an event where participants raise funds for special olympics by getting donations for plunging into the near freezing (36 degrees) water of the Chesapeake Bay.
It was an awesome event! Very well organized and smoothly run despite the many many many people that were there. I was fortunate enough to catch a ride on the Krav Maga of Maryland bus thanks to my boss and we tail gated in the parking lot. We arrived at the event a little before 8am and the fun started soon after. Time flew by quickly and before I knew it, it was 12:30pm, we were scheduled to go in at 1pm. I made my way over to the beach and without hesitation, just went running in. I actually went in 4 different times. I would come out and find someone I knew and convince them to go back in with me 🙂 It was great. This year I raised $250, next year I’ll be looking to double it.
